Physical Theatre Techniques

Class description – jump, skip or dive into a 6 hour long immersion in physical theatre and devising techniques. Make “faster” than you can think and surprise yourself with choices and material you could have never planned ahead of time. We’ll explore fundamental building blocks for physically driven storytelling – including touch, weight sharing, large group sequences and material generation. 

Whether your goal is to create new original work, explore your own physicality in performance or to never to perform again – my intention is to invite you into embodying your work (whatever work that may be), surprise yourself with how non-cerebrally you can make, and cultivate a shared space of ensemble-generated creativity.
