The Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble welcomed me in the very start of my artistic career, and I have grown so much through their influence and encouragement. I've been enlivened by my work with them, and my artistry has gone from desperate to an overflow of joy and light. And now I aim to be a gatherer myself - gathering multiple disciplines and sharing them within the communities I cultivate and am welcomed in to.
My goal is to give my own and others' "bodies of work" body. So I've spent a lot of my time studying, practicing and now teaching across the disciplines of theatre, dance and somatics. Within the theatre community, I share my particular love of dance and movement as inspiration for embodied performance and work creation. Within the yoga community, I enjoy sharing the power of subtlety and directed awareness that I've learned in my Feldenkrais training. Within the Feldenkrais community, I share the potential of free expression that I've learned through theatre and performance. In my writing, I cross all of these disciplines to give my ideas body and voice.
I gather in rehearsal halls, theaters, studios, communities. This website, is another one of my gathering places.
I was a hunting kind of artist...living in a constant state of competition, needing to prove, outrun and best the rest. But this all changed when I encountered an artistic group of gatherers - each member bringing their diversity of talents and interests to the table, and that is how the table got full. They gathered people in their town, gathered people far and wide to share in their collective creation.
